Who: Pastors and elders serving PCUSA congregations who share our commitment to the Essential Tenets of our Reformed faith and are grieved by the recent actions of the 218th General Assembly

What: Prayer, reflection, and discussion designed to explore options, especially those we can take together and with others

When: From 12 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6 to 12 p.m. on Thursday, August 7

Where: Crowne Plaza Hotel near the Atlanta Airport, 1325 Virginia Ave., Atlanta, GA, 30344. Call (866) 750-3365 to receive a “New Wineskins” rate of $139 double occupancy. Last day to make a reservation at this rate is Friday, July 25th. The Crowne Plaza Hotel is a non-smoking facility and requires a $50 refundable deposit at check-in for incidentals.

How: Register by Tuesday, August 5th. To register, send your name(s), church, mailing address(es), and e-mail address(es) to Renee Guth at rguth@newwineskinsassociation.org. There will be no registrations at the door. A free-will offering will be collected in lieu of a registration fee.

In response to your observation that NWs is speaking of the PCUSA in the third person, the New Wineskins Assoc. is a trans denominational association,. Therefore, not all of our congregations are in the PCUSA.

The job for us is to repent that people in the church do not understand the underpinnings of the doctrine of marriage. Even now, how much of God’s work is done by raising children in the Christian home, school and church. Perhaps we have forgotten the sacrament of marriage, that we show the world through Christian marriage the love that God has for his chosen bride. You carry it on from there.
